Is The Word Of God Important? “Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls b ut be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves” (James 1:21-22). Most of the time I have to say that I only hear verse 22 preached on and even so I hardly EVER hear anyone preach or teach on this verse. James 1:22 is extremely important and needs to be preached on often because so many people are not doing the Word as it is written which means they are walking in deception. We have to understand that one of the main reasons that so many people are walking and living in deception is because they are not studying the Word for themselves to actually know what is in it. The second reason that so many are deceived is that have turned to other things (TV preachers, books, devotionals like crossroads, etc…) to replace the Word of God in their lives.
