Quit Making The Same Mistakes

This is from another author and his link is at the bottom...

The problem is closer than you think

Proverbs 26:11
As a dog returns to his vomit, so a fool that returns to his folly.
I’ve also heard it said this way, “if you want different results you have to try different approaches.”
1+1 will always = 2
If you want different results you are going to have to change the equation.
You want to blame something or someone else but the problem is closer than you think.
Look in the mirror. Yup, it’s you.
You just can’t keep doing the same thing and expect different results.
You can choose to keep repeating or make wiser decisions. As bad as it sounds, it’s comparable to a dog coming back to a disgusting mess the just made and licking up.
Graphic, I know, but it gets the point across
So here are a few ways that you can do just that.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Lean On God’s Understanding...
Trusting in your own wisdom hasn’t really worked so far. Why not try leaning on His wisdom instead?
Living with an “I’ve got this” attitude seems to get you in more trouble than movement in the right direction. Why not seek wise counsel?
Do your relationships keep failing because you keep treating people the same way?
Do you keep going broke because you go through all the trouble of setting a budget but still spend like usual?
Do you keep going back to the same bad habit and attitude because you keep going back to the people that encourage those bad habits and attitudes?
God has given you the freedom to make choices. That doesn’t mean you can’t make wrong choices.
Quit acting like all the answers are found inside you somewhere. Seek out God and lean on Him.

Submit to God

The next step is always the hardest step.
Once you seek God for Wisdom you have a decision to make—Obey or disobey.
Proverbs knowingly tells us to lean on His understanding or seek His will, and then to submit in all our ways.
Why?
Because that’s what it’s going to take for us to follow through on what God commands us to do.
We will have to let go of our will and our way and surrender it to God. Then we will take His will and embrace it with all our heart, soul, mind and strength.
