“007 Top Secret Rapture”
1 Thessalonians 4:16-17
“For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first… Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord”

Wow that sure sounds like the RAPTURE!! WOOHOO!!!

Wait a minute Sparky, let’s read this passage in context, shall we?

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
“But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

(The Rapture Section)

“Wherefore comfort one another with these words”

The key to this passage is NOT verses 16-17, but verses 13-15 and then verse 18. So let us now read this passage without the “Rapture Clause” to see what God was trying to tell us.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-15/18

For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. Wherefore comfort one another with these words”

This whole passage was about comforting people who were worried about their friends and loved ones who were believers that had died before them. God (through Paul) then tells them “For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first… Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord”, however this does denote in ANY way some “007 Top Secret Rapture”. In addition, every passage of scripture I have read that talks about his return says that EVERYONE shall see him. Why people want to skate out of the tribulation is so beyond me because THAT will be a GREAT time to minister to the lost…
