A Little Sin
Each Day
There are many people who claim to know Jesus who think
that they can commit the same sin over and over again and then pray some little
“forgive me lord” prayer at night and all is forgiven. However, this is NOT how
it works because unless we repent (turn from that sin) then NOTHING is being
forgiven and that sin is still on our account. We all have to fight sins from
time to time because as long as we are in our bodies we will be tempted to sin,
but if we are committing the same sin over and over again every day then we are
NOT being tempted because we are actually committing a sin that we like to do!
(Time for Honesty)
The following verses were not written to sinners, but
to the Church because if we continue in these sins we will NOT inherit eternal
life! Also, we have to realize that not standing up against a person’s sin (insert
any sin here) makes us just as guilty as the person who is doing the sin
(Romans 1:32).
Romans 1:29-32
“Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication,
wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit,
malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters,
inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding,
covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful. Who knowing the judgment of God, that
they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but
have pleasure in them that do them”

“Until they were filled (permeated,
saturated) with every kind of unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of
envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice and mean-spiritedness. They are gossips [spreading rumors],
slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors [of new
forms] of evil, disobedient and disrespectful
to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful
[without pity], Although they know God’s righteous decree and His judgment, that those who
do such things deserve death, yet they not only do them, but they even
[enthusiastically] approve and tolerate
others who practice them”
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
“Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit
the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor
adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor
thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners shall
inherit the kingdom of God”

“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit or have any share in the kingdom
of God? Do not be deceived; neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor
adulterers, nor effeminate [by perversion], nor those who participate in
homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers
[whose words are used as weapons to abuse, insult, humiliate, intimidate, or
slander], nor swindlers will inherit or have any share in the kingdom of God”
Colossians 3:5-10
“Mortify therefore your members which are upon the
earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and
covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh
on the children of disobedience: In which ye also walked some time, when ye
lived in them. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice,
blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Lie not one to another,
seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; and have put on the new
man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him”

“So put to death and deprive of power the evil
longings of your earthly body [with its sensual, self-centered instincts]
immorality, impurity, sinful passion, evil desire, and greed, which is [a kind
of] idolatry [because it replaces your devotion to God]. Because of these
[sinful] things the [divine] wrath of God is coming on the sons of disobedience
[those who fail to listen and who routinely and obstinately disregard God’s
precepts], and in these [sinful things] you also once walked, when you
were habitually living
in them [without the knowledge of Christ]. But now rid yourselves [completely]
of all these things: anger, rage, malice, slander, and obscene (abusive,
filthy, vulgar) language from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, for you
have stripped off the old self with its evil practices, and have put on the new [spiritual] self
who is being continually renewed
in true knowledge in the image of Him who created the new self”
James 3:9-12
“Therewith bless we God, even the
Father and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God,
out of the same mouth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not
so to be. Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter? Can
the fig tree, my brethren, bear olive berries or a vine figs? so can no
fountain both yield salt water and fresh”

“With
it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made
in the likeness of God. Out of the same mouth come both blessing and cursing?
These things, my brothers, should not be this way [for we have a moral
obligation to speak in a manner that reflects our fear of God and profound
respect for His precepts]. Does a spring send out from the same opening both
fresh and bitter water? Can a fig tree, my
brothers, produce olives, or a grapevine produce figs? Nor can salt water
produce fresh”
Ephesians 5:3-7
“But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness,
let it not be once named among you, as becomes a saint; neither filthiness, nor
foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of
thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous
man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of
God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh
the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye there for
partakers with them”

“But sexual immorality and all
[moral] impurity [indecent, offensive behavior] or greed must not even be
hinted at among you, as is proper among saints [for as believers our way of
life, whether in public or in private, reflects the validity of our
faith]. Let there be no filthiness and silly talk, or coarse [obscene or
vulgar] joking, because such
things are not appropriate [for believers]; but instead speak of your
thankfulness [to God]. For be sure of this: no immoral, impure, or greedy
person—for that one is [in effect] an idolater—has any inheritance in the
kingdom of Christ and God [for such a person places a higher value on something
other than God]. Let no one deceive you with empty arguments [that encourage
you to sin], for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons
of disobedience [those who habitually sin]. So do not participate or even associate with them [in the
rebelliousness of sin]”
Revelation 21:7-8
“He that overcomes shall inherit all things; and I
will be his God, and he shall be my son. But the fearful, and
unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and
sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake
which burns with fire and brimstone: which is the second death”

“He who overcomes [the
world by adhering faithfully to Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior] will inherit
these things, and I will be his God and he will be my son. But as for the
cowards and unbelieving and abominable [who are devoid of character and
personal integrity and practice or tolerate immorality], and murderers, and
sorcerers [with intoxicating drugs], and idolaters and occultists [who practice and teach false religions],
and all the liars [who knowingly deceive and twist truth], their part will be
in the lake that blazes with fire and brimstone, which is the second death”
It is time for the Church of Jesus
Christ to purge itself from the filthy works of the flesh, and that is OUR part
of the equation. We are to deny ourselves, take up our crosses, and follow him”
(Luke 9:23) and we are crucify our flesh (Galatians 5:24), which means we are to NOT
habitually be committing ANY of the sins listed above. If we are then we need
to back up, truly repent, and then start walking in the Spirit as we are told
to do. This is as much a message to me as to anyone so I will save you those
dreaded 9 keystrokes that are always being used incorrectly…
