So the strait gate that we the believers have to enter is a gate where we the believers are firmly established in our faith so that we can stand up to the world and what it will send at us. Using His Name In Vain I have often wondered why something I see all the time on facebook or hear on TV grates my spirit, and I now I know the reason why is because it is grating the Holy Spirit within me… And I have been guilty of this myself... Reposting this because it helped me and I hope it helps someone else… Exodus 20:7 “Thou shall not take the name of the  Lord  thy God in vain… For the  Lord will not hold him guiltless that takes his name in vain” Exodus 20:7 “Thou shall not take the name of the  Lord  thy God in vain…” The Hebrew word here is “shav” which means “emptiness of speech or nothingness”. So vain means using God’s name in a meaningless way and this shows a lack of respect and it is pointless.
